Quilt Retreat

I had such a great time at the quilt retreat in Dickinson. I taught a class on my fiber art collage technique. Nine people signed up and with the class time of 8pm to 11pm, I was quite pleased. Everyone got a good start on their postcard and really got into using a variet of fabrics and fibers in their work.

I took two classes, Picture Quilts and Cut and Paste Landscapes. Both were taught by Sharon Malec who has a fantastic technique for creating a free standing applique using freezer paper templates and glue stick. She also has a wonderful collection of animal pattern and nearly every dog breed you can imagine. Her work is fantastic.

Here is my landscape that I worked on in class. I wanted to create something with a prairie landscape and capture the feel of the vast and open plains of North Dakota.
