Portrait of a hat

Have you ever tried to take a self portrait. Much easier said than done. I always feel like I end up looking a little goofy. (note to self: get some new glasses) Anyway, forget me in the photos, check out this hat.

I just finished knitting it last night and think it is the most challenging cabled knitting I have tackled yet. I love cables, I have dream of knitting a big chunky sweater covered in cables. But after this hat I may consider holding off for a few year. Because I don't think it was the pattern that was so difficult, but just trying to knit something that demanded a bit attention along with taking care of my two little munchkins nearly drove me insane.
