Summer Sunflowers
24" x 10"
I created Summer Sunflowers for the Renaissance Girl Challenge that Deb Silva posted on her blog a few months ago. The challenge was to incorporate all of ones passions into a single piece of art.
Summer Sunflowers incorporates the great variety of my fiber art interests. Primarily crazy quilting and collage. Other fiber passions include hand embroidery, free motion quilting and machine embroidery, beading and playing with novelty fibers in design. I also am intrigues with the combination of traditional and contemporary quilt design.
Small fun piece to create, every evening I keep adding a few more beads, who know when I will decided it has enough.
It turned out great Amy! I'm glad you stayed with it until you were happy - it was worth it.
ReplyDeleteOh, I like how it's turned out. I hope I get to see it in person to really appreciated all the embroidered and beaded textures.
ReplyDeleteNeat piece! Did you do the sunflowers in layers of herringbone stitches? Really came out well! What fun!
